On Sunday, September 1, there were 8 swimming finals at the Paralympics-2024. Two representatives of Ukraine competed in one of them – Danylo Chufarov and Mykhailo Serbin.

Ukrainian para-swimmers participated in the 100-meter backstroke race in the S11 class. Danylo Chufarov and Mykhailo Serbin successfully qualified.

Based on the results of the qualification race, the Ukrainians made it to the final race. Chufarov showed the second best result, and Serbin – the fourth.

In the final race, Serbin was the first to finish. He won the gold medal. He swam with a Time of 1:05.84 minutes, breaking his own world record by 0.17 seconds.

Chufarov finished the distance with the third best result. The Ukrainian swimmer won the bronze medal.

Danylo Chufarov has two silver and three bronze medals at the Paralympics. In 2008 and 2012, he was a silver and bronze medalist, and he won another bronze at the 2016 Paralympics.

Medals in swimming at the Paralympics-2024 were also won by Oleksandr Komarov, Iryna Poyda, Anna Hontar, Anton Kol, Yaroslav Denysenko, Andrii Trusov, Yevhenii Bohodaiko, Maryna Piddubna, and Anna Stetsenko.

Earlier, Ukrainian athlete Oksana Zubkovska won a gold medal for Ukraine at the Paralympic Games in Paris.

It is worth noting that with their behavior, the Russians provoked Ukrainian athletes at the Paralympics in Paris.

Ukrainian swimmers' gold and bronze medals

As reported, on August 30, swimmer Oleksandr Komarov won the 'gold' in the 100m freestyle swimming in the S5 class at the Paralympic Games. And on August 29, the Ukrainian swimmer won the 'bronze' at the Paralympics in the 200m freestyle race.
