Housing construction in Ukraine fell by 6.4%: record growth in Odesa and decline in the East.
Statistics of housing construction in Ukraine
According to inkorr.com: The State Statistics Service of Ukraine published a report on 'Total area of residential buildings put into operation'. According to the data, from January to June 2025, 4272.6 thousand square meters of housing were put into operation in Ukraine. This is 6.4% less than for the same period in 2024.
The most new housing appeared in Kyiv, as well as in Kyiv and Lviv regions, which together account for 43% of the total area. The highest growth rates of this indicator were observed in Odesa and Cherkasy regions, where an increase of 56.0% and 51.3% was recorded, respectively.
Against the backdrop of growth in these regions, there is a significant decrease in Kharkiv and Zhytomyr regions, where the construction of new residential buildings decreased by 40.4% and 37.7%, respectively.
Thus, despite the overall decline in housing construction in Ukraine, some regions show significant progress. This indicates the uneven development of the real estate market in the country, with positive changes in the southern and western regions, and problems in other areas. Interest in new buildings in megacities remains high, while the situation in the east is more complicated.
