No Gas Distribution Fees for Ukrainians With Damaged Homes.
Regulatory Body's Decision
According to Мінфін — Крипто/Фінанси: Households whose dwellings have been damaged or destroyed as a result of Russia's armed aggression will no longer be charged for gas distribution services, according to a new ruling by the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Public Utilities. This measure is designed to assist citizens facing severe hardships due to the ongoing war.
Consumers whose homes are uninhabitable are exempt from paying for gas distribution. Additionally, fees for maintaining in-building gas supply systems will not be applied in cases specified by law. Residential users are also relieved of the requirement to submit gas meter readings for any period during which gas consumption is impossible.
These changes align with Ukraine's Law No. 4825-IX. The resolution takes effect the day after its official publication, allowing swift implementation of this support for those affected.
Social Support for Citizens
The commission's decision marks a key step in safeguarding citizens who have suffered from the war. It highlights the government's efforts to ease the conflict's impact on a population that has endured substantial losses.
Rolling out such measures can help lighten the financial load on people during tough times and provide them with essential support as they work to rebuild their lives after the conflict.
