Ukrainians are issued new driver's licenses: the Ministry of Internal Affairs pointed out important nuances.
Ukraine begins issuing new driver's licenses
The head of the Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Mykola Rudyk, announced the introduction of a new sample driver's license with additional protection. The new documents have a special protective element that consists of three letters and six digits, aimed at preventing forgery. Previously issued licenses remain valid, but there are cases when drivers need to replace their documents: if the validity period has expired, personal data has changed, or the license has been lost.
To obtain or replace a new license, you need to have an identity document and an identification code. During the military state, a medical certificate is not required, which simplifies the procedure. According to the Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, about 380,000 driver's licenses were issued in Ukraine in 2024, of which about 14,000 were in electronic form.
Thus, Ukrainians are increasingly starting to use electronic documents, making government services more accessible to citizens.
