UNHCR to provide 10,800 hryvnias per person: who will receive financial assistance.
The Ukrainian Refugee Assistance Fund (UNHCR) provides financial support to vulnerable categories of citizens. The multi-purpose assistance amounts to 10,800 hryvnias for each family member over a three-month period.
According to inkorr.com: According to information from the Charity Fund 'Right to Protection', which collaborates with UNHCR, internally displaced persons who relocated within the last six months can apply for assistance. Those who returned to Ukraine or their permanent residences after temporary displacement due to military actions also have this opportunity.
Who the program covers
Families whose income does not exceed 6,318 hryvnias per person may receive assistance, provided they belong to certain categories and meet vulnerability criteria.
A total of three main categories of citizens can apply. The first are internally displaced persons who relocated within the last six months within Ukraine and have not received financial support from UNHCR, nor assistance from other organizations in the past three months.
Vulnerability criteria
To receive assistance, applicants must meet at least one of the three vulnerability criteria. These can be families with a single parent (mother or father) raising one or more children under 18 years old, or families caring for elderly people (older than 55 years).
For additional information, a hotline for UNHCR is available at 0 800 307 711 from Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 18:00.
UNHCR provides financial assistance to vulnerable groups, including internally displaced persons and those who have returned after forced displacement due to military actions. This support helps ensure a minimum standard of living for low-income families who meet the vulnerability criteria. UNHCR sets clear requirements for filing applications for assistance, which contributes to the fair and effective distribution of funds among the most needy for support.
This program is an important step in supporting vulnerable segments of the population who find themselves in difficult conditions due to the war. The financial assistance provided will allow many families to secure their basic needs and maintain their standard of living during hard times.
