Installation of gas equipment has halved: electric cars are displacing gas.
Decrease in the installation of gas equipment in Ukraine
According to inkorr.com: In August of this year, only 1161 sets of gas equipment for passenger cars were installed in Ukraine - this is almost twice as few as last year. Experts believe that this situation is related to the increasing interest in electric cars.
According to the data, in August the number of gas equipment installations decreased by 9.6% compared to July and by 47.2% compared to the same period last year. Experts' forecasts indicate a possible further decline in this indicator in the near future.
Among imported used cars in Ukraine, electric cars under 5 years old make up more than half - 51%. In contrast, only 1% of passenger cars are equipped with gas equipment.
According to information from the Market Research Institute, there is a decline in interest in installing gas equipment against the backdrop of the growing popularity of electric vehicles in Ukraine. This trend may continue to change the Ukrainian automotive market, increasing the number of electric cars on domestic roads.
Thus, the situation in the gas equipment market indicates a gradual transformation of Ukrainian transport habits. The growing popularity of electric cars not only affects the installation of gas equipment but may also change the infrastructural and environmental aspects of the automotive sector in Ukraine.
