A Ukrainian sailor won medals at the international regatta in Lithuania
According to inkorr.com: Young Ukrainian sailor Agnieszka Madonich took a prize place at the international competition in Lithuania, reports 'Glavkom' citing the Ukrainian Sports Database.
During the regatta, our athletes showed impressive results in different classes. Agnieszka Madonich stood out particularly, taking second place among girls under 16 and third place in the overall U-16 ranking in the 'Optimist' class.
In addition, the Ukrainian team demonstrated strong results at the European Youth Olympic Festival, finishing 10th in the overall medal tally, winning 5 gold, 8 silver, and 10 bronze medals.
This is the second most successful performance by Ukraine in the history of the Festivals that have been ongoing since 1993! The Ukrainian team only won more awards in 2019 when they claimed 25 medals.
Successful sports at the festival
The biggest success at the festival was achieved by Ukrainian judokas, who won 6 medals, including bronze in the mixed team tournament on the last day of the competition.
Besides judo, our athletes excelled in swimming, athletics, taekwondo, shooting, rhythmic gymnastics, and table tennis, winning 2 gold, 2 silver, and many bronze awards.
The World Summer Universiade in Germany has also concluded, where the Ukrainian team won bronze thanks to Mykola Rushak in the 20 kilometers race walk, finishing with 12 awards – 4 gold, 3 silver, and 5 bronze medals.
After the regatta in Lithuania and the impressive performances of Ukrainian athletes at the festival and universiade, one can confidently state that Ukrainian sports have powerful talents and continue to demonstrate high results on the international stage in various sports disciplines.
