Yesterday, August 26, the last Grand Slam tournament of this year, the Us Open, started. Six Ukrainian tennis players took to the courts on the first day of the competition.
Marta Kostyuk, Elina Svitolina, and Angelina Kalinina managed to win their matches. However, Lesia Tsurenko, Yulia Starodubtseva, and Dayana Yastremska did not make it to the second round.
It is worth noting that Kalinina and Svitolina will play each other in the next match for a place in the third round.

Also today, August 27, another Ukrainian will take to the US Open courts. Kateryna Baindl will play against Italian Elisabetta Cocciaretto.
