Exports and Profitability
Wheat exports remain substantial, with 40% of Ukraine’s shipments heading to Algeria. Large volumes are also being sent to Egypt, Israel, and Tunisia. Farmers can harvest between 3 and 5 tons of wheat per hectare, highlighting the crop’s productivity. Profit per hectare ranges from $200 to $500.
The stability of new-harvest wheat prices and strong export activity may point to a gradual recovery in the agricultural sector, following the significant challenges the country has faced.
Overall, Ukraine’s wheat market shows steady trading and robust export performance, which is a key factor for the nation’s agricultural industry.
Key importers of Ukrainian wheat—including Algeria, Egypt, and Tunisia—remain vital partners for regional food security. This underscores the strategic importance of Ukraine’s agricultural output on the global stage.
