Car Dealerships are Required to Disclose the True Economy of Cars: What Will Change for Buyers.
Car dealerships are required to provide full information about the economy of vehicles
According to inkorr.com: The government of Ukraine has decreed that car dealers must provide their customers with detailed information about how vehicles impact financial situations and the environment.
According to the Ministry of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture, this requirement has already been in effect in the European Union for over twenty years. Under the new decree, all new cars must have labels with information about fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions. Additionally, dealerships are required to display posters or screens with comparative characteristics of models.
An important innovation will be the launch of an electronic guide with official data on all new passenger cars. It will be available on the website of the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development for anyone interested.
The new rules will come into effect nine months after the publication of the decree, allowing dealerships and governmental institutions to prepare. The Ministry of Community and Territorial Development will be responsible for the electronic guide, while dealers must adapt their processes to the new standards.
Implementing European Standards in Ukrainian Car Dealerships
Minister of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture Oleksiy Sobolev emphasized the importance of implementing European standards for informing consumers about vehicles. This is a significant step toward protecting buyers, supporting fair competition, and reducing the negative impact of transport on the climate.
These changes will allow Ukrainians to make more informed choices when selecting vehicles, while also simplifying compliance with standards already in place in the European Union for companies.
The government's decree also requires car dealerships and other sales platforms to provide buyers with full information about the economy of cars and their impact on the environment. This will contribute to reducing the negative impact of transport on ecology and help Ukrainians make conscious choices when selecting vehicles.
