Ukrainian communities will receive 100 million euros: what the funds will be used for.
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved a resolution that allows communities to have direct access to the second tranche of funding from the European Investment Bank (EIB) amounting to 100 million euros. According to the Ministry of Community Development and Territories, these funds will be used for the restoration of social and critical infrastructure damaged by Russian aggression.
According to inkorr.com: The government has opened up the opportunity for communities to receive 100 million euros from the European Investment Bank for the restoration of social and critical infrastructure that has been affected by Russian aggression.
Transparency and efficiency in the use of resources
These funds will be allocated under the supervision of the Ukraine Facility financial instrument, ensuring transparency and efficiency in their use. The funds will be spent on the renovation of schools, kindergartens, hospitals, restoring utility facilities, creating barrier-free spaces, and modernizing heating systems.
Deputy Prime Minister Oleksiy Kuleba noted that this is a 'direct investment in the reconstruction and resilience of Ukrainian communities,' highlighting that all necessary tools for the start of project implementation are already in place.
Ukraine on the path to the EU
The Ukraine Facility is a key financial instrument of support from the European Union for Ukraine, focused on increasing resilience, recovery, and modernization of the country on its path to EU membership. This second tranche of 100 million euros will help Ukrainian communities transition to the active phase of recovery following the first tranche received in August 2024.
Thanks to transparent and efficient financing tools, Ukrainian communities will have the opportunity to actively restore their infrastructure and improve the quality of life for residents, which will contribute to the development of the country as a whole.
This initiative reflects the growing support for Ukraine from the European Union and opens up new opportunities for improving the lives of citizens across the country. The implementation of projects financed by these funds will significantly impact the speed of infrastructure recovery affected by the conflict.
