Ukrainian Pilots Log Over 2,700 F-16 Missions as Zelensky Urges Trump for More Support.
Military Support for Ukraine
According to UATV: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has disclosed that his country's pilots have conducted more than 2,700 combat sorties using F-16 fighter jets. In a direct appeal to U.S. President Donald Trump, he called for continued and enhanced military assistance, highlighting a critical shortage of air defense systems in Ukraine. This request comes as the war enters a phase where advanced Western equipment is increasingly vital to counter Russian aerial threats.
While expressing gratitude for past U.S. aid—which includes fighter jets, HIMARS artillery systems, ATACMS missile systems, and Bradley infantry fighting vehicles—Zelensky stressed the urgent need for additional supplies. Specifically, he requested more PAC-3 missiles and Patriot systems.
“The volume of weaponry arriving through the PURL program no longer matches the actual level of threat,” Zelensky stated.
Beyond requesting new deliveries, Zelensky also asked for a license to manufacture PAC-3 missiles for Patriot systems within Ukraine. In response, Donald Trump remarked that
“Ukraine will be able to help other countries if necessary.”The situation on the ground remains tense, making continued support from international partners increasingly critical.
Zelensky’s appeal underscores a growing need for additional military aid as the conflict grinds on. U.S. backing, including fresh shipments of modern weaponry, could significantly alter the course of fighting in Ukraine. Moreover, securing local production of PAC-3 missiles would grant Ukraine greater autonomy in sustaining its air defense networks, a crucial capability given persistent aerial threats.
