Estonian Foreign Minister Weighs In

According to Novyny.live: Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna has addressed the recent incidents where Ukrainian drones crashed on NATO territory, framing them as an inevitable consequence of strikes against Russian infrastructure. He dismissed Moscow's accusations that the Baltic states are directly involved in attacks on Russia, calling them baseless. Tsahkna acknowledged that Estonia is concerned about these events but views them as justified given the ongoing military context.

A Price Worth Paying

Tsahkna described the drone crashes as 'a justified price for successful strikes on Russia's military and energy infrastructure.' While not welcoming the situation, he stopped short of urging Ukraine to halt such operations, arguing they target what he called 'Putin's vital artery.' Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin is struggling to maintain fuel supplies due to attacks on oil refineries.

The minister also labeled Kremlin claims of Baltic involvement in the attacks as unfounded, pointing to growing nervousness within Russia's leadership. He noted that these incidents—including drones falling on NATO soil—underscore the gravity of the conflict. Romanian President Klaus Iohannis characterized one such event as the most serious since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine began.

Tsahkna's remarks highlight the complex regional dynamics, where drone crashes stem from ongoing hostilities and tensions between Russia and Ukraine. They also underscore the Baltic states' increasingly active role in supporting Ukraine and their willingness to maintain their stance on the international stage despite pressure from Moscow.
