Ukrainian Intelligence Eliminates Filipino Mercenary Fighting for Russian Army.
Filipino Mercenary Killed in Action
According to Novyny.live: Ukrainian forces have eliminated a foreign mercenary from the Philippines, John Patrick, who was fighting for Russia. He was killed during combat in the Donetsk region, specifically near the settlement of Novoselivka. This incident occurred during a period of intense, high-casualty assaults often referred to as a 'meat grinder' offensive.
John Patrick, a citizen of the Philippines, was serving with the 9th Assault Company, 3rd Battalion, 283rd Regiment of the 144th Motor Rifle Division, part of Russia's 20th Combined Arms Army. His basic training lasted only a week before he was deployed to the front lines. While carrying out his duties, Patrick was wounded and became stranded in a forest belt with no means of evacuation, leading to his death.
Ukrainian Military Operations Against Mercenaries
This elimination highlights the ongoing efforts of Ukrainian forces to counter foreign mercenaries participating in the conflict on Russia's side. The Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine's Ministry of Defense continues to monitor the situation and take measures to ensure security on the front line.
The involvement of foreign mercenaries in Ukraine's armed conflict is a serious concern, underscoring the global dimensions of the ongoing war. The death of John Patrick may serve as a warning to other potential mercenaries about the severe risks associated with fighting for Russia in this conflict.
Ukrainian military units remain committed to neutralizing threats from both regular troops and mercenaries, demonstrating their resolve to take decisive action in response to the ongoing aggression. The use of foreign fighters by Russia has been a consistent feature of its military strategy since the full-scale invasion began.
