Ukraine Maintains Upper Hand in the Black Sea After Striking Russian Patrol Vessel.
Bridge Under Watch
According to Novyny.live: The Kerch Bridge continues to serve as a critical asset for Russian forces stationed on the occupied Crimean Peninsula. Guarding this strategically vital structure demands considerable attention from Moscow's military apparatus, which deploys ships and constant patrols to ensure its protection. Ukrainian Navy spokesperson Dmytro Pletenchuk noted that the bridge remains a focal point due to the heavy flow of people and vehicles crossing it.
Damaged Warship
Recent incidents in the area highlight the effectiveness of Ukrainian operations. Unmanned systems units struck a patrol vessel of the 'Svetlyak' class, which belonged to the Russian FSB border service. This attack underscores the success of Ukrainian naval campaigns, further complicating the position of Russian troops in the region.
Pletenchuk emphasized that losing such a ship would force Russian forces to find alternative patrol methods.
'This is more than just a standard boat. If it is lost, they will have to look for other means to carry out patrols,'he stated. Conducting patrols amid active combat operations is a challenging task that demands substantial resources and effort.
Overnight Strike
Meanwhile, Russian forces launched a significant number of attack drones overnight. As of this morning, Russia held no missile carriers in either the Black Sea or the Sea of Azov, a sign of their deteriorating military situation. Pletenchuk remarked that
'it is safe to say they achieved no real results today,'pointing to the mounting difficulties Moscow's navy faces at sea.
Amid the ongoing conflict in occupied Crimea, fuel supply issues have also emerged, with gasoline now being sold only through ration coupons. These developments point to a worsening situation in the region and the growing challenges Russian troops encounter in their efforts to control the waters.
This situation reflects escalating tensions in the area, where military actions and security breaches are causing significant problems for Russian forces. The loss of ships and fuel shortages could undermine Moscow's ability to maintain control over key strategic assets like the Kerch Bridge. Ukraine's proactive operations also indicate that the conflict is intensifying, potentially carrying serious consequences for regional security.
