Ukrainian tennis players Oleksii Krutykh and Vitalii Sachko today, October 19, became the winners of the ATP Challenger doubles tournament in Olbia (Italy).

In the final, they managed to defeat the pair Iñigo Cervantes/David Pichler (Spain/Austria) with a score of 4:6, 6:1, 10-4.

The competition lasted for 78 minutes. The Ukrainians made three aces and committed five double faults, while the opponents made three aces and one double fault. Additionally, the Ukrainian tennis players lost one game on their serve and made two breaks.

This is already the second tournament where Oleksii Krutykh and Vitalii Sachko compete together. The first Time they played together was in 2019 at the ITF tournament in Slovakia. This is also Vitalii Sachko's seventh doubles title (second this season) and Oleksii Krutykh's third winning title (first since November 2022) in the ATP Challenger Tour tournaments.

For the victory in Olbia, the Ukrainian tennis players received 8,450 euros in prize money and 125 points in the doubles ranking.

The next opponent of the Ukraine men's tennis team in the Davis Cup has also been determined. Ukraine will play against the Tunisia team in the play-off match of the First World Group. This match will take place on January 31-February 1 or February 1-2, 2025. It should be noted that Ukraine has never met Tunisia in the Davis Cup.

In the previous match, the Ukrainian team lost to Israel with a score of 1-3. The game took place without spectators in Larnaca (Cyprus) due to security measures.

Tennis player Lyudmyla Kichenok also became a record holder in Ukrainian tennis by WTA ranking. After winning the US Open, she rose to fifth place in the world doubles ranking. Two weeks later, she moved to third place, overtaking Gabriela Dabrowski and Elise Mertens.

Lyudmyla Kichenok also set a record in Ukrainian tennis, becoming the third player from Ukraine to reach the top-5 in WTA and ATP rankings. Such success was also achieved by Andriy Medvedev (fourth place in 1994) and Elina Svitolina (third place in September 2017).

Lyudmyla Kichenok is a 32-year-old Ukrainian tennis player from Dnipro. She has won 11 WTA doubles titles, five of them she won together with Jelena Ostapenko. In addition, she became the champion of two Grand Slams - the 2024 US Open doubles and the 2023 Wimbledon mixed doubles. This season she won three trophies: in Eastbourne, Brisbane, and New York. This also ties Lyudmyla's record for the number of tournaments won in a year - the same number of trophies she won back in 2022.
