Targeting Military Infrastructure in Occupied Territories

According to Novyny.live: Ukrainian defense forces have conducted strikes against Russian military targets in temporarily occupied territories, including Crimea and the Mykolaiv region. On February 23, a strike in Crimea hit a concentration area of a missile division belonging to Russia's 15th Separate Coastal Missile Brigade of the Black Sea Fleet, which is armed with the 'Bastion' coastal defense missile system. This system is a significant component of Russia's anti-access and area denial (A2/AD) strategy in the Black Sea.

Furthermore, a command post for unmanned aerial vehicles operated by an enemy airborne assault regiment was struck near the settlement of Pokrovka. Ukrainian forces also successfully targeted an ammunition depot in the Nizhnya Krynka area and a storage facility for military equipment near Velyka Novosilka in the Donetsk region.

Drone Attack and Disruption on the Crimean Bridge

During the night of February 22-23, a sustained drone attack was underway over occupied Crimea. According to reports, Russian air defense systems claimed to have shot down 16 unmanned aerial vehicles between 22:00 and 06:00 Kyiv time. Following these events, the Crimean Bridge remained closed for over ten hours, severely disrupting a vital Russian logistics artery.

As of 11:00, approximately 230 vehicles were backed up on the Taman side waiting for inspection, with another 240 on the Kerch side. The wait time for customs clearance was reported to be around one hour. Additionally, as of 10:00, nine passenger trains bound for Crimea were running with significant delays ranging from 2 to 6 hours.

These developments highlight Ukraine's continued efforts to degrade Russian military capabilities in occupied areas. Strikes on strategic assets like the 'Bastion' system and logistics hubs can impact Russia's operational readiness and complicate its force projection. The resulting civilian and logistical disruptions in Crimea demonstrate the tangible consequences of these military actions beyond the immediate battlefield.
