116 combat clashes in a day: how the Armed Forces of Ukraine are holding back the advance of the Russian Federation in the Pokrovsky direction.
The frontline report for August 21 states that since the beginning of the day, there have been 116 combat clashes on the front, with almost half of them occurring near the Pokrovsky direction. The operational headquarters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine provides information on successful combat operations.
In the clashes on the Toretsky direction, the fighters of the 12th Brigade 'Azov' prevented the Russian troops from capturing Katerynivka. Ukrainian soldiers destroyed Russian armored vehicles and infantry attempting to attack this settlement in Donetsk region. FPV drones helped detect the enemy and strike their military equipment.
'As a result of successful combat operations, six settlements have been liberated, and hundreds of Russian soldiers have been destroyed. Commanders share information about the situation and problems on the ground, and appropriate orders have been issued to strengthen defense. The main task is to respond to the enemy's tactics while preserving the lives of Ukrainian defenders,' the Commander-in-Chief reported on Telegram.
Throughout the day, battles took place in the Lyman direction near Karpivka, Zeleny Dolyn, Kolodyaziv, and Dibrova. Clashes of varying intensity also continued in other directions. An important task is to effectively hold back the advance of Russian troops and protect civilians from attacks.
'Movement towards Dobropillya poses serious threats to our population. The enemy is trying to undermine stability in the region to establish control. However, thanks to the military's response to the threat, we managed to hold back the encroachment,' noted military expert Vladislav Seleznev.
In battles in the Pokrovsky direction, drone pilots achieved significant victories. They detected and damaged the Russian Grad multiple launch rocket system before it could open fire. Additionally, strike drones destroyed the Russian S-300V air defense system in the Zaporizhzhia direction, significantly strengthening the troops' defense.
The day before, Ukrainian troops marked a successful strike on a Russian tank, armored vehicles, and other enemy equipment. In total, 830 Russian soldiers have been eliminated in recent days. Over a million enemies have also died since the beginning of the conflict. Ukrainian defenders continue to operate on all fronts to protect the country's territory from the aggressor.
Events on the front testify to the tense situation in the conflict zone and the importance of the actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to maintain peace and security in the region.
