According to inkorr.com: Anton Savytskyi, a Ukrainian judoka, won a bronze medal at the Grand Prix stage in Mexico in the under 100 kg category. Initially, he defeated an athlete from Great Britain, but lost to a representative from Canada in the quarterfinals. However, Savytskyi did not give up: he regained his strength by winning against a judoka from the Czech Republic and ultimately claimed the bronze medal by defeating an Italian.
The victories of Ukrainian judokas at this tournament did not end with Savytskyi: Yevhenii Balievskyi (over 100 kg category) and Mykhailo Svidrak (under 81 kg) also stood on the podium. At the European Youth Olympic Festival, the Ukrainian team won 5 gold, 8 silver, and 10 bronze medals, finishing in 10th place overall. This is one of the most successful performances of the team in the history of participation in these competitions since 2019.
