Ukrainian speed skater Hlib Khochin sets a world record among juniors.
International speed skating competition in Germany
According to inkorr.com: In Germany, in Inzell, the international speed skating competition 'International Invitation Race' took place. The tournament lasted three days, during which athletes from Italy, France, Austria, and Germany competed at various distances for both men and women.
One of the juniors from Ukraine, 17-year-old Hlib Khochin, amazed everyone with his performance at the 500 m distance, clocking a time of 36.48 seconds. This result earned him first place among juniors and tenth place in the overall standings. Hlib set a new junior record for Ukraine, surpassing the previous achievement by 0.22 seconds.
At the 1500 m distance, Khochin demonstrated an even more impressive result, establishing a new personal and national record with a time of 1:50.43, which was at that time the best in the world for the season. This performance allowed Hlib to meet the international standard for participation in the senior World Cup in speed skating.
Another success for Ukraine was the results at the European Youth Olympic Festival, where the country won 23 medals in various sports, including judo, swimming, athletics, taekwondo, shooting, gymnastics, and table tennis.
At the conclusion of the World Summer Universiade in Germany, the Ukrainian team showed commendable results, winning 12 medals in various sports disciplines.
Thus, Ukrainian athletes demonstrated impressive achievements at international competitions in Germany, confirming a high level of training and sporting success across many disciplines. These results indicate that Ukrainian athletes continue to maintain their standards and are competitive on the international stage.
