Train Services Restricted in Kyiv Region: Which Routes Are Affected.
Rail Traffic Restrictions in Ukraine
According to Novyny.live: Due to ongoing security concerns, Ukrainian Railways (Ukrzaliznytsia) has announced limitations on train operations across several sections of the rail network in the Kyiv region. Alternative detour routes have been established, and all train movements now comply with strict safety protocols. While key stops for affected trains remain unchanged, passengers should anticipate delays.
The following long-distance services are impacted by these restrictions:
- No. 93 Kharkiv — Kholm
- No. 134 Kamianets-Podilskyi — Kyiv
- No. 94 Kholm — Kharkiv
- No. 43 Dnipro — Ivano-Frankivsk
- No. 104 Lviv — Lozova
Additionally, suburban train services on the Fastiv direction are experiencing disruptions. To maintain passenger convenience, shuttle buses now operate between Boiarka and Kyiv.
Infrastructure Protection Equipment Procurement
At a conference in Gdańsk, Ukrzaliznytsia signed contracts worth nearly €18 million. These funds will be used to acquire equipment designed to protect critical infrastructure and rolling stock. Since the start of the full-scale war, Russian forces have attacked Ukrzaliznytsia facilities more than 5,500 times, causing damage totaling hundreds of billions of hryvnias.
The current restrictions on train services underscore the persistent security threats facing Ukraine's railway system—a vital part of the country's infrastructure. At the same time, the newly signed procurement agreements aim to reduce risks and help ensure stable transportation links amid the challenging security environment.
