Ukraine's Railway Launches Its First Overseas 'Unbreakable Point' Support Hub.
Support Hub Opens in Chełm, Poland
According to Novyny.live: Ukrainian Railways (Ukrzaliznytsia) has established its first 'Unbreakable Point' support center outside Ukraine at the railway station in Chełm, Poland. This facility is designed to assist Ukrainian citizens traveling through Poland. On its opening day, the location served over one hundred passengers, demonstrating immediate demand. This initiative is part of broader efforts to support the millions of Ukrainians who have traveled abroad since the full-scale invasion began.
The Chełm station is a critical transit hub, handling approximately three thousand passengers daily. It is serviced by five pairs of passenger trains connecting Poland with Ukrainian cities, including Kharkiv, Dnipro, and Kyiv. This makes Chełm a key gateway for onward travel to major European destinations such as:
- Berlin
- Warsaw
- Łódź
- Poznań
Passenger Amenities
The 'Unbreakable Point' in Chełm is equipped with facilities for passenger comfort. The carriages provide charging stations for mobile devices, a vital resource for travelers. Additionally, the second carriage features a selection of photographic works from the collection of Howard Buffett, adding a cultural element to the passenger experience. Renovation of the Chełm station building has been ongoing since 2024, reflecting continued investment in improving infrastructure and services.
The launch of the 'Unbreakable Point' at Chełm station underscores the importance of supporting Ukrainian citizens during their journeys abroad.
This project could serve as a model for similar initiatives that aid the integration and adaptation of Ukrainians in other countries. Given that Chełm station is a key transport node, the operation of this hub can significantly ease the journey for travelers by providing essential services and comfort.
