Ukrzaliznytsia has blocked hundreds of accounts: what they consider abnormal activity.
Ukrzaliznytsia strengthens control over online ticket purchases
According to inkorr.com: Joint Stock Company 'Ukrzaliznytsia' has implemented a new control system for online ticket purchases, resulting in thousands of users being blocked due to suspected abnormal actions. According to the company, 271 suspicious accounts were identified and blocked last week.
The company representatives explained that the system detected users attempting to bypass the rules of using the mobile application for ticket purchases. Some violations include creating multiple accounts to circumvent blockages, frequently reserving tickets without payment, and purchasing tickets under different names.
The system analyzes not only the number of tickets purchased but also the behavioral patterns of users. Reasons for blocking include excessive reservations, abnormal search activity, and suspicious financial connections.
In case of wrongful blocking, users can submit a request to the 'Passenger Company' branch or send a letter to the specified address. The company promises to promptly resolve such situations in accordance with the law.
Ukrzaliznytsia emphasizes that the mobile application is intended for personal use. Group travel organizers are recommended to use a special service for ticket issuance.
Passenger reactions to the new security measures have been mixed. Some users doubt their effectiveness, emphasizing the necessity of addressing the ticket shortage problem.
The Ukrainian railway has begun to monitor online ticket users through a new system that has identified violators and blocked their accounts. Passengers express various opinions about this innovation, stressing the need for improvement in the ticket sales system.
Such decisions may help reduce abuse in the ticket sales system; however, it is essential for the company to also pay attention to the issues of ticket accessibility to improve the overall service for passengers. The railway emphasizes that countering violations of mobile application usage rules should be effective, but this should not interfere with normal service usage.
