The government has redistributed over 700 million hryvnias for road repairs in the East: details.
According to inkorr.com: The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has made a decision to redistribute funds for road surface repairs in Sumy, Kharkiv, and Poltava regions. The initiative was presented by the Ministry of Community and Territory Development, as well as the Recovery Agency. According to the ministry's information, these roads are used for evacuation and are of critical importance for military logistics.
'We must do everything to ensure stable communication in front-line regions and enhance the resilience of critical infrastructure. In wartime, roads are not just a convenience, but also safety, logistics, evacuation, and the ability to quickly deliver aid where it is most needed,' said the Deputy Prime Minister for the restoration of Ukraine - Minister of Community and Territory Development Oleksiy Kubela.
Funding volumes
The total amount of the subsidy for the Kharkiv region is 450.5 million hryvnias. This is the remaining funds allocated to the special fund of the state budget for the Recovery Agency, which were not utilized in 2024. In addition, funding for current repairs of state significance roads in Poltava and Sumy regions has been approved for a total of 256 million hryvnias. These funds also come from leftovers of the special fund of the state budget that were not used in 2024.
Thus, the government of Ukraine has confirmed its position on road repairs in the East of the country, which is essential for ensuring safety, logistics, and timeliness in providing assistance in front-line areas.
Repairing roads in these regions will help not only to improve transport connections but also to support military logistics, which is extremely important during the conflict. We hope that the allocated funds will contribute to the faster recovery of infrastructure and increase the safety level of the population.
