Ukrainians allowed to keep car numbers through Diia: how it will work.
Ukrainian drivers will no longer have to spend time traveling to the MVS Service Centers to keep their favorite car numbers when changing cars or technical passports. Thanks to new services that will soon be launched in the 'Diia' app, managing license plates will be completely transferred to an online format. The government has already approved this step.
According to inkorr.com: Previously, to 'reserve' an old license plate, it had to be physically surrendered for storage at the MVS Service Center, which required additional visits and wasted time.
What will change?
- Keep your number: Now you can keep your license plate at home, eliminating bureaucracy and trips to institutions.
- Digital register: The information about license plate storage is recorded in the state register.
This means that drivers will be able to online, through 'Diia', keep their license plates after re-registering a vehicle or changing the technical passport. Then easily attach them to a new car.
Experts from the Main Service Center of the MVS note that digitization significantly simplifies the lives of car owners, but urge caution:
- Watch the term: If you are using paid storage for your license plate, it is critically important to extend the term on time. If you do not extend the reservation before the end of the paid period, you risk losing your license plate!
- Use the E-Cabinet: Even before the launch of new features in 'Diia', many services such as extending the storage of numbers or ordering custom plates are already available in the Driver's Electronic Cabinet. This helps save time.
With the new service in the 'Diia' mobile app, Ukrainian drivers will be able to store their license plates online without the need to personally visit MVS Service Centers. This will significantly simplify the process of changing a car or technical passport, making it more convenient and faster for all car owners in the country.
The operation of transferring license plate management to a digital format promises to significantly reduce queues and simplify life for drivers. Quick adaptation to new technologies will be an important step in modernizing state services and improving their accessibility for all citizens.
