New Military Pay and Bonuses Approved by the Government: What Changes Take Effect in June.
New Incentive Payment System for Ukrainian Service Members
According to Espreso.tv: A revised compensation framework for Ukrainian military personnel will come into force on June 1, 2026, following Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 768, adopted on June 12, 2026. The system is designed to provide additional financial incentives for troops operating under varying conditions, aiming to boost morale and retention during the ongoing conflict.
Updated Payment Structure
Under the new rules, the minimum monthly payout for service members will be set at 30,000 UAH. Those stationed in rear areas will receive an extra 10,000 UAH per month. Payments for June 2026 are scheduled to be disbursed by July 20. The framework also includes combat bonuses:
- 20,000 UAH for restoring positions;
- 40,000 UAH for assaulting positions;
- 50,000 UAH for personnel carrying out combat missions at command points;
- 30,000 UAH for completing other combat tasks.
The total monthly compensation for any individual service member cannot exceed 460,000 UAH. Additional bonuses include:
- 100,000 UAH for each enemy taken prisoner;
- 15,000 UAH for each enemy eliminated.
The service term under an incentive contract will be 10 or 14 months for infantry personnel, and 24 months for specialists. Upon signing a contract, service members will also receive a one-time payment ranging from 26,624 to 33,280 UAH.
This new system aims to improve the financial support for military personnel and incentivize them to carry out their duties, which in turn is expected to enhance the effectiveness of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The introduction of this updated incentive payment system in Ukraine represents a significant step in supporting troops, especially amid the ongoing armed conflict. These additional financial rewards may help attract new contract soldiers and boost the morale of current service members. Implementing these measures also underscores the government's efforts to improve military service conditions and ensure combat readiness.
