The government has simplified the process of obtaining a Ukrainian passport: for citizens of which countries.
According to inkorr.com: The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has adopted new rules that will simplify the process of obtaining a Ukrainian passport for citizens of five countries. Now, it will be easier for citizens of the USA, Canada, Germany, Poland, and the Czech Republic to become Ukrainians. This step aims to strengthen ties with the Ukrainian diaspora and promote population growth in Ukraine.
The procedure for obtaining a passport for citizens of the mentioned countries has become simpler: they only need to submit a declaration of their desire to become citizens of Ukraine. Other requirements, including a five-year residence period in Ukraine and passing exams, remain unchanged.
Expansion of the list of countries
Currently, the list of countries whose citizens can obtain a Ukrainian passport consists of five states. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that these countries are strategic partners of Ukraine and actively support it. At the same time, in the future, this list may be expanded depending on further analyses and proposals.
The government hopes that simplifying the process of obtaining a Ukrainian passport will have a positive impact on the Ukrainian diaspora and the country's development as a whole. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also plans the possibility of further expanding the list of countries that can benefit from the new rules.
Simplifying the citizenship process for the Ukrainian diaspora could be an important step in attracting new citizens and strengthening ties with Ukrainians abroad. It has also opened new opportunities for people from the diaspora who wish to engage more in the life of their historical homeland and contribute to its development. In the future, we will observe how the government will implement these plans and whether there will be possible new expansions of the list of countries in the future.Read also
