The government has increased compensation for employers: how will this affect the labor market.
According to inkorr.com: The government has decided to extend the compensation period for employers from frontline and war-affected regions to 6 months, while previously it was 3 months. These changes also apply to enterprises from other regions, including Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, and Zaporizhzhia.
'We aim to provide longer support for employers and maintain jobs in war-affected regions. The program will be more accessible for IDPs, as we have simplified the compensation application process', - noted Ukraine's Minister of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture Oleksii Sobolev.
According to the Ministry of Economy, the compensation amount will be equal to the minimum wage (8000 UAH) for each employed individual from the number of internally displaced persons (IDPs) who pays the Unified Social Contribution for social insurance. As of today, more than 32 thousand compensation decisions have been made for over 57 thousand employed individuals.
The extension of the compensation period for employers in Donbas from 3 to 6 months is expected to positively impact job preservation and the development of the economic potential of affected regions. Moreover, the changes will simplify the compensation application process and expand the program to other regions of Ukraine.
The government has managed to find a solution that will support businesses under the challenging conditions of war and preserve jobs for many Ukrainians. This is undoubtedly an important step towards stabilizing the economic situation in the country and creating conditions for the recovery of regions that have been most affected by the conflict.Read also
