New transparency rules for state enterprises

According to inkorr.com: The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved a new procedure for disclosing information about the activities of state unitary enterprises and economic societies. This was reported by the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture.

This document applies to enterprises where the state owns more than 50% of shares or stakes, as well as companies where more than 50% of shares belong to state enterprises. According to the new resolution, specific deadlines and frequency for publishing information about the activities of such enterprises have been established.

'We are opening up information to the public that was previously restricted. This is a new level of transparency and accountability for state companies — an important step towards building trust between the state, business, and citizens,' emphasized Anna Artemenko, Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture of Ukraine.

According to the new rules, enterprises are required to regularly publish information about their activities on their websites or on the websites of the relevant management entities. This includes a list of obligations, internal regulations, management reports, and other important information. However, not all enterprises will fall under these requirements: operators of critical infrastructure objects, defense industry enterprises, and those subordinate to the Ministry of Defense are not included in this list.

Thus, the adopted procedure aims to enhance transparency and openness in socio-economic relations, particularly for enterprises with state participation. This is a positive step towards strengthening trust between the state and citizens, as the openness of information can facilitate better oversight of the activities of such enterprises, which in turn may enhance their accountability and efficiency.
