The Lawyer Explained Whether a Paper Military ID is Needed if There is an Electronic One in 'Reserve+' or 'Diia'.


Ukraine continues to improve the electronic military registration system. Recently, a 26-year-old man asked a question about the status of the electronic military registration document which he received through the 'Reserve+' system. He was wondering whether this document is sufficient, or if it is still necessary to obtain a paper military ID.
This was reported by 'Khvylya', referring to the consultation database website B2BConsult.
Lawyer Nelya Romanenko gave a detailed answer, referring to the latest changes in the legislation. According to the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine from May 16, 2024, the electronic military registration document formed in the 'Reserve+' or 'Diia' system has the same legal force as its paper equivalent. This document can be presented both in printed and electronic format.
Electronic Military ID in 'Diia'
The expert emphasized that the electronic military ID contains all the necessary information about the citizen, which is stored in the Unified State Register of Conscripts, Military Personnel, and Reservists. To verify military registration documents, it is sufficient to present the electronic military ID along with the citizen's passport of Ukraine.
