Arina Sabalenka confused Alcaraz with Sinner live on air: champion's reaction.
According to The Sun: Carlos Alcaraz jokingly intended to leave the 'Today' show studio when Arina Sabalenka mistakenly called him by the wrong name.
US Open champions who received their trophies visited the program in New York.

Sabalenka, 27, tried to smooth over her mistake
Sabalenka became the first woman to successfully defend her title at Flushing Meadows since 2014, defeating American Amanda Anisimova 6-3 7-6 on Saturday night.
Alcaraz, in turn, won in an exhilarating duel against Jannik Sinner 6-2 3-6 6-1 6-4 in the Sunday final.
He owes this to reclaiming the world No. 1 title in the rankings.
But according to Sabalenka, she allegedly mentioned the Italian while talking about her popularity on TikTok.
“By the way, I had TikTok with Jan… um, Jannik,”
the Belarusian said. The wrong name triggered a storm of emotions among the hosts, who exclaimed in unison: “Oh, oh, oh!”
Jokingly, Alcaraz suggested he might leave the studio after Sabalenka's mistake.
The 27-year-old athlete placed her hand on her colleague’s shoulder, apologizing:
“Carlos, man, we’re so sorry. It’s okay, it doesn’t matter.”

Speaking about the potentially awkward incident, Alcaraz jokingly said:
“What time is it? Nine o'clock; don’t worry.”
Sabalenka, in turn, dramatically added:
“This is the worst mistake of my life.”
She then hoped:
“Can we cut this out?”– although the clip was not deleted.
After the incident, the US Open champions recorded a TikTok together.
Recalling that they share the same birthday, Sabalenka wrote:
“Twins on birthday and twins with US Open trophies, May 5 is probably a really lucky birthday.”
The four-time Major champion showcased them together with the trophies, performing several moves, although Sabalenka appeared more confident than Alcaraz.
Clearly a newbie on TikTok compared to Sabalenka, Alcaraz commented on the post:
“I still don’t know what I was doing.”
Tennis Australia will likely want Alcaraz to get more acquainted with the online platform after last month signing a strategic partnership with TikTok.

During an interview on the 'Today' show, Alcaraz couldn't contain his excitement about his rivalry with Sinner.
“I think we push each other to the limit every time, and my training is focused on becoming better to beat Jannik.”
“This rivalry is special; we’ve shared Grand Slam trophies, fighting for great achievements, and thanks to him I’ve become a better player.”
“I believe this rivalry is very important.”The champion moment for Alcaraz and Sabalenka was not just recognition of their talent, but also an opportunity to share positive emotions on the show. This incident on 'Today' is another testament to how important it is not only to compete on the courts but also to find time for fun and maintain friendly relationships outside of their sporting achievements. Such moments instantly go viral and inspire millions of their fans around the world.
