A storm is raging in Estonia. Several thousand households are without power.
As of November 2 in Estonia, after the storm, almost 7000 households were left without power. ERR reports this.
Meteorologists warned that even though the weather had improved on Saturday morning, strong winds were still possible. In addition, there is a risk of slippery roads.
On the night of November 2, Estonian rescuers received 400 calls, whereas usually there are 60-70 calls in a day. Most of the calls concerned assistance to those affected by the storm. The majority of calls came from the western part of the country.
There are no casualties, but the number of road accidents has increased – cars hit downed trees in the dark.
Recall that in western Finland, for the first time in history, the wind reached hurricane levels, leaving 17000 houses without electricity as of Saturday. This is reported by Yle.
In Rauma, the average wind speed on Friday evening reached 33.5 meters per second, in Pori – up to 30.3 m/s. A hurricane is defined as wind with an average speed of at least 33 m/s.
