Murder of a Ukrainian Banker in Italy

According to Novyny.live: Italian authorities have confirmed that the death of former Ukrainian banker Oleksandr Adarich, whose body was discovered on January 23 in Milan, was a homicide. An autopsy revealed strangulation as the cause of death, with a fractured hyoid bone pointing to violent force. The case has sparked widespread public attention and concern.

In connection with the murder, authorities arrested 33-year-old Ihor Adarich, the victim's son, in Barcelona in late February. He is suspected of organizing the abduction and killing of his father. Italian and Spanish law enforcement are conducting further investigations to uncover the full scope of the crime.

Who Was Oleksandr Adarich?

Oleksandr Adarich was born on October 12, 1971, in Pavlohrad, Ukraine. He graduated from the Dnipro Mining Academy in 1993 and later earned a degree in finance and credit from Kharkiv University in 1999. From 1995 to 2000, he served as first deputy director of the Kharkiv branch of PrivatBank, followed by a role as deputy chairman of the board at Ukrsibbank from 2000 to 2002. In 2016, the bank he worked for, Fidobank, was declared insolvent, and its liquidation concluded in 2025.

The case has drawn attention in both Ukraine and Italy, highlighting potential ties between Adarich's financial dealings and criminal activity. The murder of the former banker raises concerns about the safety of Ukrainian nationals abroad and possible repercussions in the financial sector. Ongoing investigations aim to establish all details of the incident and determine whether other individuals were involved, which could reshape the understanding of international crime dynamics.
