The adoption of the law on the Military Ombudsman
According to inkorr.com: The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has passed a draft law on the Military Ombudsman, who will oversee the observance of the rights of military personnel. This ombudsman will have the task of identifying violations, providing recommendations for their elimination, and gathering the necessary information for effective problem-solving.
'One of the key functions will be to identify violations, the causes and conditions leading to them, as well as to develop proposals for their minimization and elimination. The Ombudsman will have the right to prepare and submit conclusions and recommendations to commanders (superiors), military management bodies (management bodies), and other state authorities to enhance the effectiveness of the protection of rights.'
According to the new law, the President of Ukraine will have the right to appoint and dismiss the military ombudsman in the event of improper performance of his duties. This position is created to protect the rights of Ukrainian military personnel.
The law on the Military Ombudsman is designed to enhance control over the observance of the rights of military personnel, providing them with the necessary support and protection from potential violations.
The establishment of this position emphasizes the state's attention to the importance of the rights of all who serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It is expected that the activities of the military ombudsman will promote greater transparency in addressing issues related to the rights of military personnel and improve their status within the military management system.
