Reforming the Social Protection System in Ukraine: Key Innovations.
The government has approved a reform of the social insurance system developed by the Ministry of Social Policy. The aim of these changes is to provide prompt, comprehensive, and effective support to citizens facing serious illnesses or injuries, reports Sud.ua.
Changes involve providing assistance immediately after temporary incapacity for work, without the need to obtain disability status. A person will be able to access social services, rehabilitation, medications, and technical aids without unnecessary bureaucracy.
The rehabilitation period can be extended up to 1 year, and the assessment of work capacity will be conducted using remote technologies. Payments during incapacity for work will be made throughout the entire rehabilitation period, and for persons with complete loss of work capacity, insurance payments will significantly increase.
Minister of Social Policy Oksana Zholnovych emphasized that the social insurance system should work for the benefit of people, providing necessary assistance and support during the recovery process.
We also remind that a basic social assistance of 4500 hryvnias will be introduced in Ukraine with an unexpected condition.
