Which dollars are not needed by banks and exchange offices
In particular, this concerns fake dollars, which are warned about by the National Bank of Ukraine. If there is a suspicion about the authenticity of the banknotes, the money will be seized and sent for examination to the National Bank.
There may also be problems with exchanging worn or damaged dollars, which not all banks are ready to accept for exchange. Most often, such banknotes are sent for collection – sending money for replacement to a foreign financial institution.

Currently, the exchange rate of the dollar to the Ukrainian hryvnia fluctuates between 41.2 and 41.8 hryvnias, while the euro has significantly increased in price in recent months. It is also possible to find out whether there is a banknote of 1,000 euros.
Ukrainian banks and exchange offices have started to limit the exchange of certain types of dollars, particularly fake and worn ones, which may make it impossible for citizens to exchange such money. However, some banks are introducing new services for customer convenience, such as commission-free currency exchange at PrivatBank.
