Onion Prices in Ukraine Have Changed
Onion prices in Ukraine have changed again due to several reasons. Firstly, the quality of stored onions is deteriorating. Secondly, a decrease in demand for this product is observed.
Currently, onion prices range from 9 to 15 hryvnias per kilogram. They depend on the quality and size of the batch. Prices have decreased by 10% compared to last week.
Many farmers who previously kept their goods in storage have started selling actively, leading to an increase in supply on the market and further price decrease.
Producers explain this decrease in demand and prices as a typical phenomenon for this season. It is expected that trade will revive at the end of February when there will be more quality onions on the market, and medium and low-quality onions will be sold out.
Experts also reminded about the reasons for the rise in tomato prices.
