Ukraine changes deferment procedure for certain conscripts.
Changes to the deferment procedure for caretakers and guardians
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has published changes to the deferment procedure for caretakers and guardians. This is reported by the "Judicial-Legal Newspaper".
The changes occurred in the procedure for calling citizens for military service during mobilization and for a special period. They concern the list of documents that must be provided to apply for a deferment. In particular, a new paragraph 58-1 has been added with the following content.
In the application for deferment, caretakers who care for a sick father or mother of a wife (husband), indicate the absence of other able-bodied family members who can provide care.
Conscripts who care for a sick wife (husband), child, or their own father or mother, do not indicate information about other able-bodied family members who can provide care.
The application also needs to specify which individuals are not conscripts and who are obliged to support the person being cared for. If there are multiple conscripts, a statement from a person with a disability of group I or II must be added.
These changes also apply to conscripts who care for family members of the second and third degree of kinship who are persons with disabilities of group I or II.
Changes have also been made to the procedure for requesting the establishment of permanent care. Conscripts who provide permanent care and do not receive compensation must apply to the relevant administrative council at the address of their declared place of residence. The application must include information about the conscript and the person being cared for.
It is stated that the commission for establishing the fact of permanent care must check the presence of other individuals who provide care for the person in need of care. The application for establishing the fact of care must be supported by appropriate documents.
In addition, changes have been made to the documents confirming the right to a deferment for different categories of individuals providing permanent care.
It is noted that applicants were explained how they can be involved in mobilization and military registration.
