Ukrenergo predicts reduction in power outages: where to expect improvements

According to ТСН: As a result of a recent nighttime attack by Russia on Ukraine, which damaged energy facilities, the issue of the stability of electricity supply in the country has arisen.

Comments from the head of Ukrenergo

In a telethon "United News", Vitaliy Zaichenko, the head of Ukrenergo, commented on the situation and shared optimistic forecasts regarding the outage schedules. He noted:

"Unfortunately, this was already the 6th attack on the energy system. It was quite severe."

Zaichenko pointed out that thanks to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a significant number of enemy missiles were intercepted, although not all of them were destroyed. Energy workers have already assessed the damage and are carrying out restoration work on facilities, most of which have already been put into operation. Energy teams are working continuously to restore electricity supply as quickly as possible.

Forecasts for improvement of the situation

According to Zaichenko, the weather gives reason to hope for improvements in the electricity outage schedules in the near future. He emphasized that we can expect "the most comfortable 2 rounds of outages for consumers".

Although the situation with electricity outages is improving for most of the population, residents of border and frontline areas, particularly Kharkiv and Donetsk regions, remain vulnerable due to constant shelling. Zaichenko noted that the main reason for the restrictions is the ongoing attacks by Russia on the energy system, and electricity must be turned off to maintain the balance.

Technical reasons for outages

Vitaliy Zaichenko stressed that all power outages are caused by technical difficulties related to enemy attacks and emphasized that electricity is not turned off without urgent need.

It was also noted that in some regions of the country, outage schedules were completely canceled, while in other regions, emergency shutdowns were implemented due to shelling. Some areas at the time of the report were not experiencing outages, which is related to hits in energy networks. In some regions, there is a surplus of electricity generation, which alleviates the need to introduce outage schedules.

In the ongoing war, Ukrainian energy workers continue their tireless work to provide the population with electricity. Their efforts, along with the protection of Ukrainian military, play a key role in ensuring the stability of the energy system amidst the constant challenges posed by the Russian Federation. The situation remains tense; however, there is hope for improvement, which allows consumers to rely on proper electricity supply in the future.
