The government changes the rules of the 'National Cashback': who will receive increased compensation

According to ТСН: The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine plans to make changes to the 'National Cashback' program, which provides for the return of 10% of the cost for the purchase of Ukrainian-made goods.

Economy, Environment and Agriculture Minister Oleksiy Sobolev announced this in his interview.

Possible changes in the program

The minister noted that the government is considering options to change the cashback percentage depending on competition with imported goods. In particular, for some categories of Ukrainian products that suffer the most from imports, it may be proposed to increase the level of compensation.

For example, dairy producers have proposed to increase cashback on hard cheeses, as competition with imports in this segment is particularly high. At the same time, for other products where import competition is not critical, cashback may be reduced or canceled.

‘This approach could become an additional tool in the fight for the Ukrainian consumer and strengthen the positions of domestic producers,’

- Sobolev noted.

Effectiveness of the program

The Ministry emphasizes that the program has already yielded positive results. The share of Ukrainian goods in the average consumer receipt increased from 65% at the time of launch to 75% now.

Today, 8.2 million Ukrainians have become participants in the program, who can use about 400 thousand Ukrainian-made goods from almost 2 thousand producers.

It is also worth reminding that funds from the 'National Cashback' card, issued through 'Diia', must be used by June 30, 2026.

Changes to the 'National Cashback' program may be an important step in supporting Ukrainian producers, especially in the context of tough competition with imports. Successful implementation of this program can contribute to the increase in the share of Ukrainian goods in the market and support the country's economy in difficult times.
