VAKS confiscated 5 million hryvnias: which assets of the relatives of the deputy were uncovered.
Confiscation of the deputy's assets from the Brovarsky district
According to Novyny.live: The High Anti-Corruption Court (VAKS) confiscated assets of a deputy from the Brovarsky district of Kyiv region worth over 5 million hryvnias. This decision was the result of monitoring the deputy's assets from Velyka Dymerka, carried out by detectives of the NACP. During the investigation, unjustified assets registered in the name of the official's relatives were discovered.
Identified assets
Luxury cars and land plots were the main objects that implicated the deputy. Among the identified assets:
- Volkswagen ID 4 electric car owned by the deputy's ex-wife;
- Jaguar XF sedan used by the deputy's adult son;
- Ten land plots registered in the name of the mother-in-law, son, and ex-wife of the deputy.
The court's decision will take effect in a month, unless the deputy's defense files an appeal. This highlights the seriousness of the situation and the potential consequences for the official, who is under close scrutiny by anti-corruption authorities.
This case is yet another confirmation of the intensification of anti-corruption measures in Ukraine aimed at combating corruption in power. The confiscation of assets may serve as an important signal for other officials who could be involved in similar offenses. Monitoring the further development of the situation, including possible appeals, will be crucial for understanding the effectiveness of anti-corruption reforms in the country.
