Microplastics Found in Tea and Coffee: What We Know About the New Study.
Scientists have found microplastics in two of the most popular beverages in the world. According to The Independent, the amount of microplastics found in hot tea and coffee was the highest. Researchers investigated 155 different non-alcoholic drinks, including both hot and chilled.
Study Results
According to inkorr.com: A recent study showed that microplastics enter the human body through the consumption of liquids. Hot beverages were found to be more contaminated with microplastics than previously thought. The preparation process and the high temperature of hot drinks contribute to the increased concentration of this pollutant.
Concerning Consequences
The study indicates that even popular drinks like tea and coffee may contain microplastics. This raises serious concerns, as the growing levels of plastic pollution could negatively impact human health. Further research and improvements in the beverage filtration processes are necessary to reduce the risk of microplastics affecting the body.
These results underscore the importance of paying attention to the quality of consumed beverages and the risks associated with environmental pollution. As microplastics become increasingly prevalent, society should consider measures to improve the situation and protect health.
