Venezuela declared mobilization due to US troops in the Caribbean Sea.
According to inkorr.com: In response to the increased presence of American warships and forces in the Caribbean Sea, Venezuela has announced the start of a 'mass mobilization' of its military personnel, including weapons and equipment. This information was reported by CNN.
Mobilization of the Venezuelan troops
Venezuelan Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino Lopez stated that training of ground, air, and naval forces, as well as reservists, will continue until Wednesday. This deployment is a response to the 'imperialist threat' associated with the growing military activity of the US.
Training and its objectives
The exercises will involve not only regular military units but also the Bolivarian militia — reserve forces consisting of civilians created in honor of Simon Bolivar. The purpose of these exercises is to optimize command, control, and communication, as well as strengthen the country's defense. The order for these actions has been issued by Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.
Tension in relations with the US
Amid the escalation of relations between Venezuela and the US, on Tuesday, the US Navy announced the arrival of the USS Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier in the area of operations of the US Southern Command. This operation involves a significant number of military personnel engaged in the strategy to combat drug trafficking. It is worth noting that the Trump administration does not rule out the possibility of regime change in Venezuela.
Thus, Venezuela has initiated a 'mass mobilization' of its military forces in response to the growing military activity of the US in the Caribbean Sea. These exercises involve not only regular troops but also the Bolivarian militia to enhance defense capabilities and improve management in the event of a possible conflict.
