The Verkhovna Rada supported the deferment of mobilization: who will be affected for 12 months.
The draft law on mobilization deferment received support from the Verkhovna Rada
According to inkorr.com: The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the draft law on mobilization deferment in the first reading. This document allows certain categories of military conscripts to receive such deferment. In particular, it concerns conscripts and reservists aged 18 to 25 who have signed a military service contract and were discharged after the end of martial law.
Individuals who have completed their service will receive a 12-month deferment, during which they can only be called up for service with their consent. The authors of the draft law note that after being discharged from a contract, young people lose the right to deferment until they reach 25 years of age, which increases the risk of mobilization immediately after discharge. The adoption of this law aims to address this legal issue and provide time for adaptation for those returning to civilian life after service during the war.
This law is intended to help conscripts better prepare for civilian life after service and avoid the negative consequences of being called up for service immediately after discharge from the Armed Forces.
The adoption of this draft law has been an important step in supporting young people who have completed military service, as it provides them with the necessary time for adaptation. According to military experts' feedback, such measures will help reduce stress among those returning to peaceful life while allowing the state to better plan mobilization needs. The draft law is now awaiting consideration in the second reading, which will be a decisive stage for its final adoption.
