Canoeists Luzan and Rybachok win silver at the Olympics.
In the women's final of the Olympic Games in the canoe double 500 meters, Ukrainian athletes Lyudmyla Luzan and Anastasiia Rybachok won silver medals.
During the final, our athletes did not hold leading positions, but excelled in the final part and managed to secure second place.
Today the final of the individual all-around will take place, where our young gymnast Taïsiya Onofriychuk will compete, who made it to the final with the 4th result.
Recall that the Olympic Games are taking place in France - in Paris and 16 other cities in Europe, as well as on the island of Tahiti, which is part of French Polynesia. Breakdancing is making its Olympic debut at these Games, and these Games are the last to be held by Thomas Bach, the head of the IOC.
The 2024 Games are the first to have an equal number of male and female competitors. It is expected that the cost of these Games will be 8.3 billion euros.
The opening ceremony started at 7:30 p.m. on July 26, 2024. This was the second Time in history that the opening of the Summer Olympic Games took place outside the stadium (the first was the opening of the 2018 Summer Youth Olympic Games).
The parade of nations took place along the Seine River from the Austerlitz Bridge to the Jena Bridge, and the official part took place on the Trocadéro Square on a temporary “mini-stadium”. The parade route ran for 6 kilometers, showcasing the cultural elements of the ceremony and views of Paris's landmarks.
The director of the 2024 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games ceremony was Tomer Zoli.
