Ukrainian veterans simplified the process of receiving benefits: now only one application.
Simplification of the procedure for receiving benefits for utility services for war veterans
According to inkorr.com: The press service of the Pension Fund of Ukraine reported new changes that will simplify the process of receiving benefits for utility payments for Ukrainian war veterans.
According to the new rules, veterans only need to submit one application instead of two. The application can be submitted in person, by mail, or online through the Pension Fund's website. This decision aims to reduce bureaucratic procedures and ease access to benefits, which is particularly important for veterans who often face difficulties in gathering the necessary documents.
The simplification was made possible by the Cabinet of Ministers' resolution dated December 27, 2023, No. 1395, which initiated a pilot project to improve the registration procedure for veterans and the provision of benefits to them. Previously, two separate documents had to be submitted.
Now veterans can submit a single simplified application for registration and benefits simultaneously. Applications can be submitted not only by veterans but also by their family members, if they have the right, significantly simplifying the process of obtaining benefits.
Methods of submitting an application
- In person at the service center of the PFU;
- By mail to the appropriate PFU branch;
- Online through the PFU web portal.
How to submit an application online
- Log in to the PFU portal using your electronic digital signature (EDS);
- Select 'Application for housing subsidy or benefit' in the left menu;
- Fill out the form with personal, passport, address, and banking information;
- Confirm your consent to the processing of personal data and send the application to the PFU.
Representatives of the Pension Fund emphasize that the aim of the experiment is to simplify veterans' access to state benefits and to gradually transition social services to electronic format.
This system may be expanded to other categories of citizens, enhancing the accessibility of social services.
Thus, it has become significantly easier for Ukrainian war veterans to obtain utility benefits thanks to the simplified application procedure. This helps reduce bureaucratic difficulties and improve access to state social services, with the potential for future expansion to other population groups. The simplification of the procedure has been an important step in supporting those who defended our country and will ensure they receive proper social assistance.
