Veterans' housing rent compensation increased: who will receive payments.
Money Compensation Program for Veterans
According to inkorr.com: The Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine is launching a housing rent compensation program in accordance with the Cabinet of Ministers' resolution №252.
'From now on, compensation can be received not only by defenders who lost or have damaged housing due to hostilities, but also by demobilized veterans among internally displaced persons who do not have their own housing or lived in homes that were not their property,' - said the Ministry of Veterans Affairs.
Who can receive compensation:
- defenders who lost or have damaged housing due to hostilities;
- veterans who are undergoing rehabilitation more than 15 km from their declared place of residence;
- internally displaced veterans without their own housing or who lived in rented accommodation.
The amount of compensation depends on the place of residence:
- Kyiv, Dnipro, Lviv, Odesa — 2 living minimums (currently 6,056 UAH);
- regional centers — 1.5 living minimums (4,542 UAH);
- other settlements — 1 living minimum (3,028 UAH).
'If the rental price exceeds the compensation amount, the veteran can pay the difference themselves, while the state reimburses the established part. In the case of short-term rental (less than a month), the compensation is paid proportionally to the number of days of residence,' - explained the Ministry of Veterans Affairs.
Funds will be transferred to the bank account (IBAN) specified in the application.
To apply, you can contact:
- the structural unit on veteran policy at the location of the rented accommodation;
- to the CNAP (service №02606).
'Documents can be submitted in person or by mail (registered letter). The application is submitted in paper or electronic form (if technically possible) in accordance with the annex to the Order №252,' - explained the Ministry of Veterans Affairs.
This housing rent compensation program opens new opportunities for veterans who have faced difficulties after service. Support in housing rental will help ease their social rehabilitation and adaptation to new conditions.
