Veterans will receive compensation for auto insurance: how to apply through Diia.

According to inkorr.com: Veterans of the war will have the opportunity to get back the money they spent on obtaining a compulsory civil liability insurance policy (OSCPV). Specialists from the 'Legal Advisor for IDPs' announced the launch of this service.

According to the information provided, technical development of the new service in the 'Diia' application is currently underway. Thanks to it, compensation can be processed online. Users will be informed about the launch after the completion of work.

 

Who will receive compensation

Compensation can be received by combatants and persons with disabilities caused by the war. It is provided only for one vehicle that belongs to a specific veteran.

To be eligible for compensation, the following requirements must be met:

• the age of the policyholder must be at least 18;

• a contract with an insurance company must be concluded no earlier than January 1, 2025, and no later than December 31 of the year following the end of martial law;

• the insurance is valid only within Ukraine;

• the engine size does not exceed 2500 cm³ or the electric motor power is up to 100 kW;

• the vehicle is not used for commercial purposes.

Applications for compensation can be submitted until the last day of the insurance contract.

How to apply for compensation and when to expect payments

You will need a passport or a foreign passport, tax identification number, electronic vehicle registration certificate, and a current OSCPV policy to submit an application.

The process will take place through the 'Veteran Pro' section in the 'Diia' mobile application. The user will need to log in, select the vehicle, submit an application for compensation, and, if necessary, open a 'Diia.Card' account.

The 'Legal Advisor for IDPs' notes that reapplying for the program is only possible one year after receiving the previous compensation in case of an accident.

The funds will be disbursed gradually, in the order of submitted applications and only if budget funding is available.

Combatants and persons with disabilities caused by the war have the right to compensation for the policy. The compensation application process will be available online through the 'Diia' mobile application. Details and conditions will be clarified after the technical work on the service is completed. This is an important step in supporting veterans and their social protection in Ukraine.
