Two Serie A Clubs in Talks as Dynamo Kyiv Academy Product Bogdan Popov Eyes League Debut.
Popov Transfer Talks with Serie A Clubs
According to Novyny.live: Bogdan Popov, a product of Kyiv's Dynamo academy, could make his Serie A debut next season. Two Italian top-flight teams—Atalanta and Cagliari—are keen to sign the Ukrainian striker, who currently plays for Empoli. Serie A is widely considered one of Europe's top leagues, making this a significant career opportunity for the young forward.
The 19-year-old moved from Kyiv to Poland in 2022, signing with Górnik Zabrze. After a strong stint in Poland, he transferred to Empoli in Serie B. Last season, Popov scored 10 goals; overall, he has netted 23 times in 66 matches across his professional career.
His agent, Andriy Holovash, confirmed that negotiations are underway but declined to share further details. This indicates active dealings in the transfer market and raises the possibility of a Ukrainian player joining one of Europe's premier championships.
What Lies Ahead for Popov
A move to a Serie A side could be a major milestone for the young athlete, boosting his international profile. Given his successful season with Empoli, a potential transfer also highlights the growing interest in Ukrainian talent across European leagues—a trend that could positively impact the development of football in Ukraine.
