The military explained how the Armed Forces distinguish North Korean soldiers from Russians.

Ukrainian soldiers can distinguish between groups of Russians and North Koreans

Ukrainian soldiers are already able to recognize which group - Russians or North Koreans - is moving towards their positions in Kharkiv region. This was reported by Major Anton Zakharchuk, who is the deputy commander of the 95th Air Assault Brigade, during a telethon.

According to Zakharchuk, usually Russian and North Korean soldiers act separately. However, the Armed Forces of Ukraine can distinguish between them even before they approach their positions.

“When North Korean soldiers are moving and we start firing at them, they continue their movement. There was even a case when the first soldier shot down a drone, and the rest just stepped over it and kept going. In the case of Russian soldiers, if they come under fire, they usually retreat,” Zakharchuk said.

Zakharchuk mentioned that during the assault in which a North Korean soldier was captured, only a unit of North Korean soldiers was acting, without any Russian contingent. Usually Russian soldiers use North Korean soldiers for infantry assaults, while they themselves act as support or reinforcement units.

“We inflicted losses on the opponent with firearms and automatic grenade launchers. After the battle, we conducted a detailed reconnaissance and discovered one enemy soldier near our positions. Therefore, a decision was made to capture him. The captured soldier turned out to be from North Korea and was injured. We evacuated him from the battlefield and provided medical assistance,” the military recounted.

It is worth reminding that Ukrainian soldiers captured two North Korean soldiers who fought in Kharkiv region against Ukraine. This was reported by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky on January 11.

One of the captured North Korean soldiers wants to stay in Ukraine, while the other wished to return to North Korea. This is evident from the video of the interrogation published by President Volodymyr Zelensky.
